CPA, RevShare or hybrid: which payout model to choose in iGaming
How partner payout models differ, who each one suits and what a network should consider when setting up offers.
In iGaming, advertisers pay for players under three main models. A network needs to understand each one, because the model drives risk, hold and how you calculate margin.
CPA
A fixed amount for the target action, usually a first deposit that meets the baseline, a minimum deposit or wagering amount. The partner gets paid fast and predictably; the advertiser carries the risk that the player never pays back.
RevShare
A share of the revenue the player brings the advertiser over their lifetime. The partner takes the risk, since early months may bring little, but on good traffic earns more than CPA and for longer.
Hybrid
A combination: a fixed amount for the first deposit plus a smaller RevShare percentage. A compromise between quick money and long-term income.
| Model | Partner gets | Risk | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| CPA | Fixed per deposit | Advertiser | Fast-turnover buyers |
| RevShare | % of player revenue | Partner | SEO, streamers, long-term sources |
| Hybrid | Fixed + % | Shared | Trusted partners |
What matters for the network
- Geo payouts: the same model costs different amounts in different countries.
- Individual terms: strong partners often need their own payout.
- Hold: CPA needs time to verify the baseline; RevShare follows the advertiser's settlement period.
- Margin: track the difference between advertiser and partner payouts per offer and geo.
Summary
There is no “best” model, only the one that fits the traffic source and the partner. The network's job is to offer flexible payouts and transparent stats so both sides see results. See the step-by-step plan for launching a network.
